Fellowship (FAMN)
The highest honour the Academy of Management Nigeria can bestow upon a member — recognising sustained excellence in Management Sciences.
What is Fellowship?
Fellowship of The Academy of Management Nigeria (FAMN) is the Academy’s most distinguished membership grade. It is conferred by election on members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to Management Sciences scholarship and to the Academy over a sustained period.
Elected Fellows are entitled to use the post-nominal designation FAMN after their name, signifying their status as a Fellow of The Academy of Management Nigeria.
The Fellowship recognises not merely academic seniority, but sustained and active contribution to the Academy’s mission — intellectual rigour, mentorship of younger scholars, participation in the Academy’s conferences and publications, and advancement of Management Sciences in Nigeria.
Eligible members may apply through the Member Portal. Applications are reviewed by the Executive Committee and Board of Fellows. The ₦300,000 acceptance fee is payable only after your application has been approved.
Annual dues as a Fellow: ₦40,000. Life Fellows (retired) pay no annual dues.

The Fellowship Process
Application
Eligible members apply through the Member Portal. You will select your track, provide a supporting statement, declare your conference attendance, name two Fellow referees, and upload your academic CV.
Review
The Secretariat reviews your application against the eligibility criteria, verifying dues status, years of membership, and attendance declaration. The application is then forwarded to the Board of Fellows.
Election
Successful applicants are elected at a meeting of the Executive Committee and Board of Fellows. Election requires a majority vote of both bodies. You will be notified by email of the outcome.
Conferment
Elected Fellows pay the acceptance fee through the link provided in their approval email. Fellowship is formally conferred at the Annual Conference, after which the FAMN designation takes effect.
Other Fellowship Categories
Life Fellow
A Fellow who retires from active university service and is financially up-to-date with all dues at the time of retirement automatically qualifies as a Life Fellow. Life Fellows are not charged annual dues and retain all Fellowship privileges.
Honorary Fellow
Honorary Fellowship is conferred by the Academy on distinguished management practitioners who have made exceptional contributions to Management Sciences in Nigeria. The minimum qualification is tenured Professor or CEO of a quoted company. Honorary Fellowship cannot be applied for — it is bestowed at the Academy’s discretion.
Log in to the Member Portal to check your eligibility and submit your application. The acceptance fee of ₦300,000 is only payable after your application has been approved.
